Teens and Internet Addiction:

Internet addiction:   If you are a teen you should do a internet addiction test, but why?;  well,  it is the correct way to see if you have a real and serious problem. If this is true you should tell  your parents, a friend or go to a specialist. But  if you have a moderate or low addiction to the internet you can do some simple things to help yourself,  such as check the ratings, declare tech-free zones and times, and talk about it or seek expert help if needed. I would like to underline the option "check the ratings" because it is a good way to realize how much time you spend using technology and which applications. It is another way to see to which things are you addicted like instagram, online free video games…In this way I'm proud of myself because I checked and I just use my mobile phone for 2 hours daily. Another interesting and useful option is to declare tech free times and zones, such as not using your phone while you are on the bus going...

Internet addiction Blog  April 19, 2021  We always knew that one day technology would have taken over the world and our lives. This generation is the demonstration that our devices have become one of the most important parts of our daily life. The internet addiction is statistically proved to be the addiction that influences the biggest part of the population, even more than drugs, alcohol and games. The most influenced by the internet addiction are the teens that found themselves completely under the control of the internet, and because of this they lost their ability of interacting with other people without the need of social media, their concentration and all the side effects that are both physical and mental.  Now the young people of this generation have lost the ability to interact with each other without using social media. It is no coincidence that as soon as we meet a person, the first thing we do to then stay in touch is to start following each other on social ne...

Effects on teens of having a cell phone “Today, spend a little time cultivating relationships offline. Never forget that everybody isn't on social media.”Germany Kent said . Have you ever wondered what effects  having a cell phone has on teens? There are many effects of having a phone of course. That’s something that actually shouldn’t be happening, for our good.In my opinion, kids under 14 shouldn’t have cell phones, because it’s addicting,it allows teens to talk with strangers, and it affects their grades. First of all teens can easily get addicted to their phones. We always have our phones with us when we go out or whenever we are.As an example,we are going out with our friends. We sit somewhere and you can see that everyone is looking at their phones and not socializing(talking to each other) or playing games together. (Anderson and Jiang). Second effect is that we are talking with strangers. What I mean is that we are accepting text messages (requests) from people we have neve...

Once Neeraj Agnihotri said: “Social media not only snatches your time, but it also teaches you attention deficiency”, and I agree with him. Nowadays one of the most common addictions among people and especially among teenagers is the internet. The latter, in my view, is taking up a lot of space in people's lives, the dangerousness of it and the consequences it can take like for example getting bad grades First of all, we easily get addicted to our phones and it is very difficult to get them off of us. The urge to use the phone is an irresistible thing that if you become addicted it is very difficult to take it off. For example, in my case, when I go out with my friends and there is a moment where we do nothing the first thing you do is to pick up the phone and check the notifications, and then at that moment, there is a dead silence because everyone is silent, using their phones. (Anderson and Jiang). Furthermore, when we surf the internet we continually come across strangers who ...

The Challenges of Internet Addiction     “The difference between technology and slavery is that slaves are fully aware that they are not free” is what Nassim Nicholas Taleb says about techonogy addiction. Nowadays the internet helps us achieve great things but it is also destroying important aspects of our life. Especially in teenagers and in all those who are “learning from home” the problem is becoming very serious. First of all, teenagers don’t concentrate while studying anymore, secondly people are not used to socializing anymore and thirdly many people are experiencing more health issues than before.       Nowadays it is surely harder for students to concentrate on studying when they have to attend classes and do their homework online. Many young students have a difficult time staying focused on their classes when they are using the same device they use to normally relax and play videogames. Many times while in school they receive a notific...
